Terms of Use

Effective August 20, 2026

The short version: Twindow is free and provided as-is. Use it responsibly and in line with the terms of the apps you run through it. It’s an independent project, not affiliated with those apps.

Acceptance

By downloading or using Twindow (“the software”), you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, don’t use the software.

Licence to use

Twindow grants you a free, non-exclusive licence to install and use the software for personal or commercial purposes on your own devices. You may not resell it or misrepresent it as your own.

Provided “as is”

The software is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Twindow is not liable for any damages or data loss arising from your use of the software. You use it at your own risk, and are responsible for backing up your data.

Your responsibilities

Compatibility

Some apps can’t be fully isolated — in particular sandboxed Mac App Store apps, whose data macOS locks to a protected container. Twindow flags this at create time. We make no guarantee that any specific app will work as you expect.

Trademarks & independence

Third-party names and logos (such as Slack, Google Chrome, WhatsApp, Visual Studio Code, and Claude) are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to identify the apps Twindow works with. Twindow is an independent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any of them.

Updates

The software may update itself to improve reliability and security. Continued use after an update means you accept these terms as they then read.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms; the effective date above will change when we do.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Twindow operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
